While there are many CarPlay dongles out there, Carlinkit TBOX is something that caught my eyes recently. Even though it does not run on the latest operating system, it comes superfast processor, Qualcomm SDM450D Core: A53x8 cores 1.8 GHz.

Before getting into the details, let’s have a look at this popular brand’s overview.

CarlinKit Brand Overview

Carlinkit was originally established in China in 2014. The company covers several markets across the world including Western Europe, Southern Europe, North America.

Over the span of seven years, the company has introduced various products in the market including USB CarPlay Dongle, Autokit, U2W, Android Auto, and CarPlay.

Carlinkit is popular enough to have more than 5 million users across the globe in more than 300 countries and regions. If you are an influencer, then you can simply sell their products and earn a commission on them through their affiliate marketing program.

Let’s delve further into the details to understand the newly launched device based on compatibility, price, stability, and connectivity time.

Product Function

The device runs on a powerful processor, which ensures that there is no lagging, and it makes your overall journey hassle-free. However, it is worth noting that the product doesn’t come with the latest version of the operating system, instead, it comes with Android 9.0. Although there is not much difference in the performance.

Carlinkit TBOX comes with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage. Aside from that, users can also upgrade the memory of the device to 128 GB with help of an SD card. The device also provides you with a fast connection, ultra-low latency, and low-power consumption.

One of the highlights of this device is the 4G-LTE network. The product supports 2G/3G/4G networks with help of your local SIM card. The 4G feature will simply make your streaming, navigation, and voice commands super fast and easy.

You will also get to use Google Play Store for absolutely free and you can simply download any application that you wish to install including Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, Spotify and so on.

The device comes with a built-in GPS system that positions you on the map smoothly and allows you to navigate your way to the destination while avoiding all the congestions. Thanks to the voice command feature that makes your driving experience bliss.

Moreover, they also provide a list of vehicles that supports the device. It supports mostly all the wired CarPlay vehicles and converts them into wireless connections.

For instance, many popular brands including Audi, Benz, Volvo, Volkswagen, Porsche, Skoda, Seat, Mazda, Hyundai, Cadillac, Chery, Lexus, Jaguar, Maserati, Nissan, Jeep, Ford, Haval, Chevrolet, Honda, Kia, MG, GMC, and Citroen Buick consists of wired CarPlay feature.

However, it is highly recommended that you should always check the list of vehicles before placing your order.

Using Experience

As soon as I received the product, I noticed the 4G feature and was glad to add a SIM card to it that will enhance my overall experience. Carlinkit TBOX is simple to use, even for beginners, as all I had to do is plug and play.

The box came with two USB wires, long and short, I used the longer one that helped me to place the device near the dashboard to get a better network. One of the cables is USB-C to USB-A while another one was USB-C to USB-C.

Compared to other CarlinKit devices, this one took 10 seconds extra (25 seconds) to connect but once it was connected, it was smooth and found no lags. Even if you want to go for a quick drive, then the 25 seconds of connecting time might not get noticed.

One of the best parts is to play any content while driving as I’m always accompanied by my kids and they often get into a fight in the backseat. However, once I play some informative or entertaining content for them, I can peacefully drive.

The size of the product is also pretty compact and looks elegant in black color. Moreover, features like calling controls, voice to text, music controls, Google maps navigation makes the entire driving experience smooth and enjoyable.

I purchased this device at a discounted price of $309.99 while its original price is $319.99.

However, the company provides 30 days money-back guarantee, so even after ordering if you don’t find the product good enough, you can return it anytime. Although I won’t be returning it anytime as it worked really well for me.

The product would have been perfect if they provide an OS upgrade in the future to the Android 11.0 operating system.
